Understanding Crime - by Tom

Last week I visited several areas of Ipswich that have witnessed significant levels of crime related activity over the past few years.

New 20mph zone, in Anglesea Road area

Conservative Councillors Chris Chambers (County) & Lee Reynolds (Borough) have this week welcomed the introduction of the 20MPH zone on Angelsea Road after years of campaigning. This is the largest of any 20MPH zone in the town and shows the ambition Suffolk County Council has to promote speed awareness when there is clear evidence of accidents in the area.

Update on Upper Orwell Crossings

A recommendation, that the Upper Orwell Crossings project stop with immediate effect, will be put to the Cabinet of Suffolk County Council on January 29th, 2019. Suffolk County Council remains fully committed to the future development and continued success of our county town.  To reiterate this commitment, we are still prepared to commit financially towards the costs of building the two smaller bridges

Tom on Education

Our prospective candidate for MP, Tom Hunt, has been meeting with the head teachers at various secondary schools in the town. Tom says that  these meetings have been extremely useful and have given him a real insight into the challenges there are within our schools.

Ipswich Labour MP thinks he knows better than his constituents

The people of Ipswich were asked what they thought and they voted decisively to leave the EU. Ipswich residents don’t deserve patronising and condescending statements. They need an MP who will do their bit to help deliver Brexit and honours the democratic verdict they expressed in the summer of 2016

More money in ypur pocket

Ipswich is the County Town of Suffolk and, although the Borough boundary is small, its economy supports a far wider area. Already there are thousands of people coming into Ipswich every day of the week and this will only rise as other smaller areas, outside of our control, grow in size.
