Update on Upper Orwell Crossings

A recommendation, that the Upper Orwell Crossings project stop with immediate effect, will be put to the Cabinet of Suffolk County Council on January 29th, 2019. Suffolk County Council remains fully committed to the future development and continued success of our county town.  To reiterate this commitment, we are still prepared to commit financially towards the costs of building the two smaller bridges

Tom on Education

Our prospective candidate for MP, Tom Hunt, has been meeting with the head teachers at various secondary schools in the town. Tom says that  these meetings have been extremely useful and have given him a real insight into the challenges there are within our schools.

Ipswich Labour MP thinks he knows better than his constituents

The people of Ipswich were asked what they thought and they voted decisively to leave the EU. Ipswich residents don’t deserve patronising and condescending statements. They need an MP who will do their bit to help deliver Brexit and honours the democratic verdict they expressed in the summer of 2016

More money in ypur pocket

Ipswich is the County Town of Suffolk and, although the Borough boundary is small, its economy supports a far wider area. Already there are thousands of people coming into Ipswich every day of the week and this will only rise as other smaller areas, outside of our control, grow in size.

Our town centre- a mixed picture

Why does the appearance of parts of Ipswich town centre vary from a little bit run-down  to smart and tidy?

You can take a look at the former Queen’s Head public house building at the top of Civic Drive.

Empty for Christmas

It’s 18 months since the lights were turned off in one of the most prominent buildings in our Town Centre. Since then £3.6 million has been spent on improving the Cornhill to try and create and  modern, vibrant focal point. The Labour Council has run out of ideas and cannot be trusted to turn the fortunes of our Town around. We now own £64 million worth of out of town retail parks, if we can’t successfully rent out this beautiful building in a perfect location what hope have got if we lose tenants elsewhere?

Merry Christmas from Ipswich Conservatives

We would like to take the opportunity to wish our readers, members and supporters a peaceful and relaxing Christmas, and thank everyone who has helped us during 2018.
