“This is a difficult time for businesses across Ipswich and the country at large. It is at times like this that a Business Forum can help make a real difference – businessmen and women in Ipswich have a great deal to offer and I want to be pushing their ideas and concerns on the national stage to help shape Conservative policy.”
Ben Gummer, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Ipswich, has today announced that Philip Hammond MP, Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, is to launch the Ipswich Business Forum on Thursday 26 February.
Membership of the Forum is open to all businesses within Ipswich and it will meet regularly to discuss issues of local, regional and national importance within the business world.
Many businessmen and women from across the town are expected to attend.
Ben said: "I am delighted that Philip Hammond has agreed to come to Ipswich to launch our new Business Forum. As Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, he is uniquely positioned to be able to provide an insight into the current economic situation and what course a future Conservative Government would take.
“This is a difficult time for businesses across Ipswich and the country at large. It is at times like this that a Business Forum can help make a real difference – businessmen and women in Ipswich have a great deal to offer and I want to be pushing their ideas and concerns on the national stage to help shape Conservative policy.
“Gordon Brown has personally presided over nearly 12 years over economic mismanagement in our country. People in Ipswich have had enough of a Government that is distant from their needs and concerns – it is high time there was a change of direction at Westminster and I hope that this new Forum helps get a better deal for all of us in Ipswich.””
